This was a nicely done book. All of the star wars characters were represented which helped me to identify all of the characters that my 3 year old loves! For my 3 year old, a little too many words and not enough pictures.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son who is a HUGE Star Wars fan. As he gets older it is harder to find more appropriate Star Wars gifts, but this will be perfect.

Unfortunately, after discovering that the figures did not have movable arms and legs, the gift receiptiant put the toys down and did not return to them. He is quite a Star Wars fan but non posable figures disappointed him. Gift receiver's age is 11.

I purchased "The Essential Atlas" for my boyfriend as a Valentine's gift. He is a Star Wars lover from the beginning and was very thrilled with this book. He said it provided a lot of excellent map detail and was built around all the episodes, so is quite comprehensive. The publication quality is nice as well. Five stars and a happy boyfriend!!

I bought this book because I needed it for a Star Wars decal I am taking at UC Berkeley (very fun). The book has a lot of great pictures, and spans the entire history of the galaxy, which we are covering in the class as well. It's neat if you want to learn galaxy history, know details about events about the different wars and such, or just brush up on your Star Wars knowledge. It's set up like a textbook, with an index and everything, so it's fun to use as a historical source on all things Star Wars. :)

This book tells you the background, history, and some of the future of droids from the Star Wars saga. Some of the material is a bit mature for kids less than 10 however. Very detailed and imaginative and fills in a lot of details about the saga that I hadn't even thought about.

Just when I thought I knew it all, along comes this book to fill me with more knowledge of the Star Wars universe. I have already recommended it to several friends and 2 of them have actually bought it themselves. The illustrations are beautiful, the information detailed and presented well. A must have.

An easy five stars. The ways Honor Harrington finds herself at the end of the war aganist the dishonorable cheats she has had to fight throughout an entire series. If you are fascinated with Sci-fi, read it. If war games are your style, read it. If romance tips your boat, grab a copy. If human DNA fascinates you, come on in. If you simply are looking for a good read, without caring which part of the series you've wandered into, welcome. Do you have a pet that you KNOW you can communicate with? Yep, so does Honor. As I noted, this is a grand book. It is worth the reading time. Easy.David Weber know how to put together a section in time, not to ignore some rather remarkable conversations that do not tred lighty on the facts of reality. Conversations are real, getting points shared that need to be shared, daily. Not lame nonsense.Letting other people know about this book is fun, because I was lucky enough that a friend lent me a copy. Result... I purchased the entire series right here. It may not always be that way, which is a honest statement.

First and foremost, before I begin this review, it must be noted that I have not played any of Spirit of the Century, the role playing game this universe is based out of. I also have not read any of the Dinopocalypse trilogy that this book continues from. I just saw this amazing cover, read the back, and was intrigued to read this story. I had no idea what kind of an adventure I was about to begin. Kahn of Mars follows the exploits of Professor Kahn, an ultra intelligent Ape, and his partner Bulls-eye,a cowboy sharpshooter. In the beginning of the book a portal is opened that sends the heroes to Mars. An uprising is occurring and a prophecy has foretold that a black ape will come to lead the people of Mars against the evil Weather Witch and bring peace to the land. The other half of the cast are Khan's colleagues who are trying to find a way to bring them back. This story is awesome! Mars is described in vibrant detail and all the inhabitants have their own uniqueness that keeps you interested. Khan and Bulls-eye are great as well. They are very well wrote out and you connect with them really quickly. Not a single side character lacks as much description as our heroes. The novel brings to life a universe that feels as captivating as Star Wars. As for the action, this book keeps it over the top. As I've stated, I've never played the RPG it is based on. From what I understand it is a pulp over the top action game and this story makes you feel as you're listening in on a great gaming sessions. Every chapter is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you watch this conflict unfold before your eyes. My only complaint is that the book is short, clocking in at a little over 200 pages. I felt like I finished it in only an hour or two, but what an awesome couple of hours it was. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Sci-Fi and well wrote out characters. Because it, I bought the Spirit of the Century RPG book and can't wait to start a campaign with my friends! This is a wonderful universe!
