  • Lords of Waterdeep

I will go so far to say that Lords of Waterdeep is the most enjoyable Eurostyle game that I have played in a very very long time. Lords of Waterdeep is a Eurostyle game (worker placement specifically) for people who aren't fans of Euros in that it is a very quick to teach and play, has actual player interaction elements (the Intrigue cards), and has elements of luck in the quests drawn, the intrigue cards drawn, and the building tiles that show up throughout the game. Heavy spreadsheet non interaction, non random element fans need not apply. The core spaces of this game will always be the same as they are spaces on the board provided. Which helps make the game quite easy to teach. I've been using the online posted rules to play Pathfinder RPG for about a year now (d20pfsrd.com) and I must say, having the book while playing instead of a laptop brings a much better feel to my games. While the vast content of the website is unmatched by any of the books, I think it's best to keep online stuff to out of game preparation and use the core book (and perhaps bestiaries as well) during table top play. Plus, buying the book instead of going to the free site is the best way to show appreciation for the excellent work that Paizo does.

An awesome addition to any Pathfinder game. All the items right at your fingertips. Very useful as a reference tool for designing encounters as a GM or finding an item you would like to purchase or craft. Not a needed game book, but a very useful one. Enjoy!

This book is exactly what I hoped it would be. It has many new options for existing character classes as well as new classes, feats, spells, etc. The core rules has a lot of options, but players love to have as many choices as possible so this is a great book to have at the table.
