This book is a supplement for Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition (Wizards of the Coast). As such if you are not interested in the DND 4E ruleset you won't want this book. If you are interested in 4E, this is a excellent supplement with more options for all characters (yes it focuses on the Martial Power Source like the name implies).

Terrible version of D&D. Stick with 3.5. 4.0 is boring, slow, and unimaginitive. Stay with what you have, or wait for 5.0, or just play WoW - its pretty much the same thing as 4.0

  • Great resource book

This book is an asset to GMs and players alike. It covers combat in more detail and offers a couple of new classes. Recommended.

This book is huge! It weighs in at about 5 pounds and 577 pages. It has everything you need to create characters and get started right away, but you will need a bestiary or monster manual for monstrous opponents. The artwork is great, and the overall quality of the product is superb. I have been impressed with Paizo company products a few times now; keep up the good work!

  • A must for any DM

I hate to be a fan boy and give it 5 starts all around, but I feel that this book is that good. I only wish that it were longer than 223 pages. It does a great job of giving tips and ideas to make you a better DM. It's not just loaded with a bunch of maps, monsters, and traps. Don't get me wrong, you get that too, but it really teaches you how to read your players, customize encounters to maximize their fun, and how to link those encounters together in a fun and meaningful campaign.
