Debbie Gibson's Ms. Vocalist is the kind of album that would be heard in a fine dining establishment or in the lobby of a luxury hotel. There is definitely an elegance and maturity, but it's merely "nice". Even though I would recommend this to a friend (and keep the album for myself), a more appropriate thing to do would be to give this as part of an "Employee Of The Month (Or Year)" reward package.

I bought Ceremonials as a way to show appreciation for my favorite current band, HAIM. They were the opening act for Florence And The Machine when they toured in support of this album. I like the full bodied vocal style that Ms. Welch has, as well as the orchestrations that support her. Fun Thing To Do: Whenever 'Say My Name' is sung in "Spectrum", reply 'Heisenberg' just as dramatically. C:

Iggy Azalea brings to mind ****** * . from the late 80s/early 90s. "Workin'" is her at her most honest and vulnerable. She really did have to scrape together money from three jobs in her native Australia just to move to the U.S.. After arriving broke in Miami at 16, she resumed working a series of minimum wage jobs to support herself while sending headshots to modeling agencies and demos to music companies. She succeeded in landing some minor modeling jobs, which enabled her to survive (and quit her other jobs). Those jobs gave her a decent income, but not enough to satisfy O-1 (Entertainer) Visa standards. She became famous just as her Visa was set to expire. On its own merits, "New Classic" holds a well deserved place in the current Hip-Hop landscape. Her incredible (5'10") presence contributes intensity to the flow of her lyrics. Stand out collaborators are **** *** and ****** ***.

  • The Greatest Album Ever Made

Face Value is an amazing combination of jazz, rock, R&B and pop. The fact that it was written and recorded after Phil's first divorce, forces real emotion to the lyrics and feel of the music. You can't help but feel his pain. Yet, no two songs are alike. Since it was never intended as a public release, the entire work is extremely personal. Each song is a story by itself. Real thought and emotion goes into the lyrics. It isn't just 3 or 4 words sung over and over again like many modern songs we are used to hearing on the radio. People who give this album an undeserving one star, seem to be disgruntled Gabriel fans, who are upset with Phil filling his shoes in Genesis. 1. In The Air Tonight -The crème al la crème of all Phil Collins. Arguably, Phil's best vocal recording ever. The songs starts off slow and haunting with the relentless sound of the drum machine (necessary for the mood), then builds into an explosion of drums and emotion. The energy released is like an atomic bomb. Just u...
