Raising Sand
from Buffalo NY,  Nov 19, 2007

When I found out about this duet, I was very excited, when I received the disc I couldn't wait to give it a listen. Boy was I disappointed. It is so slow, and sappy. What a waste of two great talents. If you like Robert Plant, stick to his solo efforts. If you are a fan of Alison Kraus, stick to her material with Union Station. This cd is just bad.

The song selection and mix is fantastic. Krauss and Plant should do more together, this is brilliant. I really love the Everly Brothers choice and the band is excellent. MORE MORE MORE fire up the lighters.

Plant/Krauss CD
 from NY,  Apr 17, 2008

What a great and pleasant surprise to hear music that sounds awesome by two great names in the music industry that come from different ends of the spectrum. Awesome songs, awesome voices/vocals behind the songs sung. A must have CD for ppl who love great sounding music/songs. An A+ rating in my opinion.

If you appreciate Allison Krauss and T Bone Burnett you will not be disappointed. Is it Blues? is it Bluegrass? It is fascinating music.

A Great CD
from Richmond, VA,  Jan 11, 2008

I couldn't fathom what the union of Led Zeppelin's front man with a country star would sound like. It's a wonderful combination. You don't have to be a fan of either of them to enjoy this music. Robert Plant shows tremendous range--there's even a mountain-gospel song where he shines.

Great CD at a great price
from Atlanta, GA,  Jan 10, 2008

This is one of the best reviewed CD's and it's easy to see why. The blend of Alison's beautiful voice and Robert's edge, plus some great songs, adds up to a great CD. My dad loves it, and now I want to buy one for myself to keep!

More country than I like
from Reno, NV,  Jan 3, 2008

Although their voices are fantastic it is a little more country than I like. I still recommend this cd as the two of them sound wonderful together.

Awesome blend of two outstanding artists. Could not believe what I was hearing. Every song on the album is a hit by itself. Would like to see this pair do another album.

Buy it, you'll like it!
from Guthrie Center, Iowa,  Dec 18, 2007

I would recommend this CD to anyone who is a fan of Alison Krauss, Robert Plant, or anyone who likes good, new music. I'd heard about this collaboration and was skeptical, but after hearing one track on a local radio station I had to hear more. Glad I ordered it. I heard that the pair will be touring in support of this album in 2008. I'm hoping they go back in the studio and give us more!

Plant-Krauss Raising Sand
from Fairfield, Ohio,  Dec 16, 2007

Not your "Alison Krauss" recordings that one expects from her--I think that the combination of their voices along with the music is great. The music is intense and the Everly Brothers influence is plain to hear.

pretty good
 from Pennsylvania,  Dec 15, 2007

His vocals are reminescent of Zepplin. I am not exactly sure he fits the style and song selection with his sound, but it is unique. She is, as usual, a complete representative of the genre. Very sweet voice and comfortable to listen to.

Raising Sand
from Spur, TX,  Dec 12, 2007

I had this cd sent straight to my 15 year old grandson for his birthday so I haven't listened to it. He loves it! He plays the violin so he was interested in the combination of Krause and Plant.

Surprised
 from Texas,  Dec 10, 2007

I had heard only one cut from this CD when I purchased it. I've been a long time fan of Robert Plant, having seen him once with Led Zep, once solo, and once with Jimmy Page. Alison Krauss has a room full of Grammys to her credit, so I knew that this would be good. T Bone Burnett has done a fantastic job as the producer in selecting songs and styles that complement each voice, and has joined the two together into an amazing colaboration. This CD has gone to the top of my "Best of 2007" list. I hope the rumors of a tour come true. Get this CD now!

Good Expectations
from Dearborn, Michigan,  Dec 1, 2007

I like this cd but I have to say I was expecting it to be great, and was a little disappointed. I love both of the vocalists on this cd and thought the two together would be a new and unusual listening experience. It is a good addition to my collection but do not think it will be one of my favorites.
