Ricky Skaggs maintained his status on the country charts in 1984 with Don`t Cheat in Our Hometown. Skaggs` combination of bluegrass, honky tonk, and pop material reigned at the center of country music in the early to mid-`80s, unquestioned here given the presence of the chart-topping "Honey (Open That Door)," a cover of Bill Monroe`s "Uncle Pen," and the title track originally made famous by the Stanley Brothers, to whom the album is dedicated. ~ Al Campbell
