Can't Keep a Good Man Down!
from Coastal Maine,  Feb 4, 2008

Whether a reader or a viewer of Sherlock Holmes, his reported demise at the hands of his archrival, Professor Moriarty, left his fans feeling somewhat bereft. So what could his creator do, but bring him back after a hiatus of three years. But do yourself a favor and don't cheat. Get the preceding adventures first and watch them in sequence. It won't be a hardship. These black and white restorations are superb, so you won't want to miss any of them, and the price is certainly right.

Considering Brett is the definitive Sherlock in most Sherlockians minds, this set is a must have for anyone into the genre. It avoids the corniness of many other attempts. Unfortunately it contains only the stories and not the novels such as the "Sign of Four" and "A Study in Scarlet" which are long overdue to be done but without Brett (deceased) they may never be. Highly recommended product.

The Superb Sherlock Holmes: Jeremy Brett
from Asheville, NC,  Apr 24, 2006

This collection of Sherlock Holmes is one of the very best. I was absolutely enthralled with the performances of Brett and Hardwicke. Beautiful performances and beautiful relationship. Anyone who appreciates par excellence in TV performances should see Every one Brett and Hardwick made.
