Ps2 - Nhl 09

This game has become the most played video game I've ever bought. As a hockey fan since my childhood, it was reminiscent enough of those early hockey games released in the 90's to excite my nostalgia, while remaining sophisticated enough for my now adult tastes in gameplay. Skating and stick-handling are each controlled by an analog stick with exquisite sensitivity, and deking a goalie is just as hard as it should be to make the game realistic. Passing is effortless, with way fewer bad pass than hockey games that came before it, but switching players on defense isn't. It's the Achilles heel of this game that it doesn't switch you to the player in front of the puckhandler, rather just the next closest player you have to your own goal. Anyone who has a PS2 and like hockey should own this game. We'll be talking about it with grandchildren when we're 60, I guarantee it.
