Anyone who loves Jane Austen and her work already knows this is a must-have. The DVD format is nice as it requires fewer swaps than the VHS. Be aware that, being a miniseries, the movie is long, but it is this length which allows such beauty.

This is the best version of Jane Austin's story ever. The characters were well chosen--the acting by everyone, especially Colin Firth's was superb. It was very evident that the producers took great care in choosing the settings for each scene. I would recommend this version a thousand times over. I have watched this series countless times and never tire of it.

This version is far superior to the lastest version. The characters are portraited with great attention to detail and accuracy. And you can even understand what they say because they talk slower and with mild dialect. . Many hours of enjoyment in this wonderful version.

What a wonderful story, so true to the period. The most enchanting story and as my "isn't anyone going to blow anything up in this movie?" husband has remarked, this is the ultimate love story and chick flick. And even HE loved it. A great view, a wonderful find here on Overstock!!

This is the complete DVD set of the BBC production of Austen's P&P, not the silly remake that only ran 90 minutes. It is true to the book, and Colin Firth is quite simply amazingly handsome as Mr. Darcy. Jane Austen fans will adore seeing their favorite characters come to life in this well done period piece.

This is the best movie to watch if you want a movie that is closest to Jane Austin's book Pride & Prejudice. The actors fully encapture Jane Austin's characters. Best movie ever.

the dvd box is a little out of shape, but the actual disks working fine.

i love this movie,there is no bad language in it so if you want just a good clean movie and vary romantic,this is the movie for you.i would recommend it to anyone.

This original version of P&P is more detailed than the movie version. Colin Firth is gorgeous as always and 5 hours of him was great. I planned on watching it over a few days but once I sat down to watch it I couldn't turn it off and watched the 5 hours in one day. It really gives an insight into life in the late 1700's and is a nice break from movies full of CGI etc. The cast is great and British people may recognise some of them from TV. The comedy makes the mini series more down to earth. If you are a Jane Austen fan or think that Colin firth is easy on the eyes then I recommend this. The price including shipping was less than I saw it for in stores.

This movie is very close to the book. I enjoyed the costumes and settings. The actors were excellent. One of the best love stories.

This was a wonderful production and both I and my 13 year old daughter could have watched it all night. My daughter and her best friend have slated it as part of their entertainment during spring break. This was an excellent adaptation of Jane Austin's novel and I would recommend it highly. The actors provide a very real personification of the characters, and both my daughter and I were enthralled with Mr. Darcy. Quality family entertainment like this is hard to find in today's marketplace and I was very happy to be able to locate it at a reasonable price on Overstock.com.

I have placed this movie into my classic movies of all time category. Along with "Gone with the WInd" and "Excaliber" I will continue to watch this movie over and over again. It is indeed a timeless story done with the utmost care to details. This is a must for any movie collection.

Sure the BBC doesn't have the pop of the hollywood version, but it's a much fuller story and Colin Firth is definately the best Mr. Darcy!

I loved this film. Great idea of how times where back then. Historical romances are my favorite and Jane Austen is the greatest.
