This original version of P&P is more detailed than the movie version. Colin Firth is gorgeous as always and 5 hours of him was great. I planned on watching it over a few days but once I sat down to watch it I couldn't turn it off and watched the 5 hours in one day. It really gives an insight into life in the late 1700's and is a nice break from movies full of CGI etc. The cast is great and British people may recognise some of them from TV. The comedy makes the mini series more down to earth. If you are a Jane Austen fan or think that Colin firth is easy on the eyes then I recommend this. The price including shipping was less than I saw it for in stores.

This was a wonderful production and both I and my 13 year old daughter could have watched it all night. My daughter and her best friend have slated it as part of their entertainment during spring break. This was an excellent adaptation of Jane Austin's novel and I would recommend it highly. The actors provide a very real personification of the characters, and both my daughter and I were enthralled with Mr. Darcy. Quality family entertainment like this is hard to find in today's marketplace and I was very happy to be able to locate it at a reasonable price on Overstock.com.

I have placed this movie into my classic movies of all time category. Along with "Gone with the WInd" and "Excaliber" I will continue to watch this movie over and over again. It is indeed a timeless story done with the utmost care to details. This is a must for any movie collection.

This is an excellent rendition of the Jane Austin novel. It faithfully follows the story line of the book with the exception of the ending. The movie basically leaves off the last chapter in the book but this does not detract from the whole premise of the story. The casting was right on the mark. I have seen three movie versions of Pride & Prejudice and in my opinion, no one has played the parts of Darcy and Elizabeth better than Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. The behind the scenes special feature is very interesting and should be watched after watching the movie. This is one of my favorite movies. Even my son and my father, who are not usually interested in this genre, enjoy this movie.

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife. It is one of the very few DVDs she doesn't mind watching over and over. This particular version of Pride and Prejudice displays wonderful acting and unforgettably scenic shots!

What a bargain this title was. I have been waiting to purchase it, but it was much more expensive at other sites. It is still the very best movie version of Pride and Prejudice that I've seen. It isn't suitable for all ages, not because there are problems with adult themes, nudity, or foul language, but because children won't understand it and will become bored.

This version of Pride and Prejudice stays true to the reknown classic by Jane Austen. It is much more detailed than the newer, updated version starring Keira Knightly. Colin Firth shines as the perfect arrogant Mr. Darcy, and the other actors manage to captivate the essence of their particular character. At 5 hours long, I was left wanting more, simply because I love this classic and timeless story! A movie Miss Austen would have been proud of.

This is a wonderful adaption of the book. Jane Austen's work is masterfully captured in this mini-series. If you like the book I guarantee you will enjoy this. Much better than the Hollywood adaptation.

This is the best Pride & Prejudice movie that I have seen. The acting is superb, the time period is kept true and the actual portrayal of the book is honest. This is a must-see for any Jane Austen fan.
