Following closely on the heels of the band`s fine first two albums, PICKIN` UP THE PIECES and POCO, DELIVERIN` brings the country-rock sound of those records into a concert setting.
The album bucks the trend of most live releases, however, by featuring all unreleased material, combining quality new songs with the energy and intimacy of a live performance. Poco was arguably at their best in concert: their high, sweet harmonies are as impressive live as they are on the band`s studio releases (Jim Messina, who would leave the band shortly after this release, is in particularly fine voice), and the playing is loose, charged, and assured.
