Description:

Bestselling author John Grisham takes a break from his usual legal thrillers and has some fun with a comic novel about American football..in Italy. Rick Dockery is a failed NFL player who has one last chance for glory when he?s offered a spot on an Italian football team. Despite not speaking a word of the language, Dockery relocates to Parma, Italy, where he finds himself fumbling through one misadventure after another. A light, playful novel, Grisham once again demonstrates that his imagination can indeed stretch outside of the courtroom.

Title is deceiving but cute

bubb2a from Chula Vista, California, Nov 26, 2007

Not finished w/book but what I've read it's interesting. Not one of John Grisham's better books. However, I like to large print as it makes it more easier to read. For that I enjoy reading the book. Has a nice story and looking forward to end to see what happens to the QB.

something different!

mollyweekender from Ca, Sep 25, 2007

I really enjoyed this book it is not the typical Grisham thriller Which really do not interest me any more. This the story of Pro quarterback Rick Dockery who has become the laughing stock of the NFL. The team his agent can find him is an Italian team that plays in a European league. This is a fish out of water story, Rick Has never been to Europe and knows nothing about Italy and all he knows about Italians is from watching American gangster movies. This of course makes from some cute and funny situations. While not a thriller the book does have some surprising twists. Good entertaining, feel good read! Speaking of which I also have to recommend "ACROSS THE HIGH LONESOME" for another surprising slice of life book that will take you some where new and different!
