This was a gift for our daughter in law so I have not read it. However she was thrilled to be recieving it. I received the book within a week of ordering and was very pleased with the packaging.

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I read it because it was assigned to an English class at my school. The kids loved it, so I had to see what was the fuss. Now I'm going to have my students read it this year.

I've read a lot of Follett, and this is his best by far - I'd always passed this over because it was written almost 20 years ago, but my mother got it for me for Christmas; no doubt because of the renewed surge by Oprah's club. I read until my eyes got blury! Worst thing was that it came to an end - this is a book I could have read for another 900 pages of story.

I enjoyed this book enormously and the value was very good - although I have since found that the book can be had at an even better price on this site if it is not the Oprah edition. Happy Reading!

I give this book a 5 star rating across the board. It is historic, exciting, informative, and entertaining. I can't put it down. I have already received the sequel as a gift.

All I can say is WOW, what a fantastic book! Could not put it down and I am sorry it is over.

AMAZING book! Very well written. The story takes place in the middle ages. The Pillars represent the people and society of the middle ages and how they lived.

this is the 3rd.time i have read this book.Follette's ability to tell the story never fails to draw you in i can only imagine living in those times. a wonderful read which makes one appreciate living in comfort and safety!
