I bought this cookbook for my Mother-in-Law who LOVES Paula Deen. I like how the cookbook is divided by holidays and has menu suggestions for each. The recipes are very detailed with a cute story or party idea at the beginning of each section. My biggest complaint is that they're not a lot of pictures. While I enjoy readying many books without pictures and can do so with no problem :) in a cookbook I really like to see the final product before I choose my recipes. I'm excited to give this book for Christmas but I might have chosen another book had I been able to browse this beforehand.
So far I have just glanced through this since I've ordered several other books. My daughter went on her show and she has every book she has. She recommended it to me. I know I will enjoy it - I've already found several recipes I want to cook. A good boo9k and you can't get it cheaper than at Overstock!
I adore Paula Deen & her TV shows. So, I asked for this book as a Christmas present. It has a lot of terrific recipes in it, ranging from "very easy" to medium in difficulty. Paula writes some anecdotal stories before each segment of recipes. They are grouped by the various celebrations. My one complaint is that the book only has about 8-10 photos. I love to see the photos in cookbooks. It often tempts me to try a recipe I might have otherwise passed on. However, if you are a Paula Deen fan, you will really enjoy this cookbook.
