As justifiably legendary as ballads like "She`s Got You" and "Sweet Dreams" are, Cline was equally skilled at honky tonk and even early rock & roll, possessing a tough, flirty tone that powers tunes like the terrific title track and her superior takes on the early rock hit "Stupid Cupid" and Hank Williams`s standard "Lovesick Blues." The only one of Cline`s canonical hits here is her 1954 breakout "Walkin` After Midnight," making STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN an excellent second purchase after a solid overview of her hits and best-known songs.
