THQ sends gamers back under the sea with everyone's favorite sponge in SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: LIGHTS, CAMERA, PANTS for the PS2. Players join the entire cast of the hit Nickelodeon show as they compete in thirty mini-games and other activities. The producers of SpongeBob's favorite TV show, The Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy have come to Bikini Bottom to shot a special episode of the series, and theyre using the local denizens as guest stars. To decide who will play each role, the shows producers have created a number of challenges to weed out the bad actors. Players will need to do everything they can to win each of the ten randomly selected challenges so they can claim the right to play the new super villain; otherwise, they may end up in the role of bumbling henchman. Up to four players can select their character from a huge cast of SpongeBob characters, including SpongeBob, Patrick Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, and Squidward. Other characters can be unlocked by completing certain tasks or achieving specific records on each mini-game. The game includes three different modes: story mode, quick game, and tournament. At the end of the story mode, players can view the 15-minute episode of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy and, depending on the outcome of the game, characters will change roles accordingly.
