If you're a RENT fan, you'll love this soundtrack! Very highly recommended - really good story line & songs are pitch perfect matches for the scenes they embody. Definitely adult subject matter, but unless you're paying close attention to the lyrics (and of the right frame of mine) nothing is too overt. Song #16 will have you singing along very loudly - especially when stuck in traffic! I sincerely hope Mssr. Sheik & Sater collaborate again in the very near future.

I went to go see this show in New York and I was blown away, I NEEDED to get the soundtrack. This CD is filled with extremely moving, amazing, heartwarming, powerful music. It is not suitable for all ages, I would suggest 14 and up, the themes in the show are very mature. But I guess it is at parental descretion. Overall I feel that this CD is an experience that you can't miss!

Some friends recommended this to me, and being a theatre person, I decided to check it out. The music is haunting, memorable and very moving. With the adult themes and language it is not something to listen around children, however. Even if you are not a theatre aficionado, it is still a very worthwhile purchase for someone who appreciates fine and original music.
