Editorial Reviews:
Billboard (p.24) - "The singer is especially good on 'Life Is Better,' a sexy soul-rap track from Q-Tip's 2008 THE RENAISSANCE, and on 'Dear John,' a bleary duet with Ryan Adams that reminds listeners that even multiplatinum prodigies can get the blues." Mojo (Publisher) (p.97) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "This 18-song miscellany reminds us that talent loves the company of talent, one-off duets with Ray Charles and Dolly Parton underlining Jones's seemingly effortless ascent to premier league status." Paste (magazine) - "The burble of organ on 'Turn Them,' a duet with Sean Bones, may be the album's finest sonic hook, a sound that subtly mimics her mellifluous vocals." Clash (magazine) - "[T]he close vocal harmonies with Gillian Welch are particularly strong and a version of Roxy Music's 'More Than This' is utterly charming." Record Collector (magazine) (p.84) - "As a showcase for Norah's voice, it's fantastic. As an illustration of her ability to stretch herself far from the dinner party soft jazz of her perceived populist image, it's even better." Uncut (magazine) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "There are knockabout duets with big names, but more interesting is hearing Jones sweeten hip hop tracks and add heavenly harmonies to indie sessions."

  • Duets and collaborations

I received a copy of Norah’s latest CD from One2One Network to review. Spanning almost a decade, Featuring Norah Jones contains collaborations with various artists.. I recognized some big names: Dolly Parton, Herbie Hancock, Willie Nelson, Outkast, and Foo Fighters. Other names weren’t familiar to me: Belle and Sebastian, Gillian Welch, etc. This CD showcases Jones’ style: a skillful mix of blues, folk songs, and jazz. In the mood for some blues? You’ll enjoy “Love Me” or “Here We Go Again.” Hosting a winter open house? Crank up “Baby It’s Cold Outside” or “Life is Better.” Looking for a great break up song? Add “Turn Them” or “Dear John” to your playlist. Featuring Norah Jones is a great CD for old and new fans of Norah Jones.

  • Ok

I love Norah's voice. This album is no different. She shows her range with the different genre collaborations that she does in the cd. However, as a whole, the variety in the cd made it a little hard to follow. I think it's great that she sounds comfortable singing in whatever genre of song that she does, but I think they could have picked a little bit more of a cohesive selection of songs. There are a few songs that I will continue to listen to, but several that I won't. I guess it's not that much different then other cds in that regard.

  • I like it!

I love the variety of songs on this album. It shows Norah's ability to sing in all genres from country to rap and everything in between. I loved her version of Elvis Presley's "Love Me." It gave me goose bumps.

  • Norah Jones…featuring Norah Jones

Norah Jones…featuring Norah Jones This CD is Norah Jones’s musical collaborations from the last 10 years. There is quite the variety, from Dolly Parton to Ryan Adams to Outkast! Most of the songs are breathy, earthy, & simple. Classic Norah. For me, there is no one song that really stands out, I do like the song Loretta-Jones featuring Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. And you REALLY need to listen to Baby Its Cold Outside with Willie Nelson! A treat for your ears!!! 1. Love Me - The Little Willies 2. Virginia Moon - Foo Fighters featuring Norah Jones 3. • Awesome collection of genres

I have always liked Norah Jones and was excited to be giving the chance to receive a free CD of her latest album, “Featuring”, from One2One Network, to listen to and write a review on. Norah is a very diverse artist. She dose a mixture of several genres of music on this album and it also has artists like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Ray Charles, just to name a few. I loved “Come Away With Me” with the Ray Charles. It is in a R&B sound and won a Grammy. Her country side is showcased with the likes of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”, with Willie Nelson. “Creepin’ In”, with Dolly Parton, was a true test of Norah Jones talent. She matched the tone and tempo to a tee in this song. “Loretta” oozes jazz with perfect harmonies along with David Rawlings and Gillian Welch. This album will delight most fans of music because it has such a wide range of genres unique and captivating sound. I recommend this album to any fan of Norah Jones and all those looking for a soulful collection of songs.
