I've only read a few Cormac McCarthy books. Overall his work is excellent, however if you've never read any of his books before be warned; his style of writing can difficult to read. He does not use anything but basic punctuation marks, he typically does not indicate which character is speaking, it is not always clear which character the narrator is referring to, etc. The ideas he addresses in his books are interesting and they are a good read.No Country for Old Men was and excellent book. I read a few reviews of it before hand that claimed it was one of the more accessible Cormac McCarthy books. I would have to agree, but I am by no means a McCarthy expert. I have not seen the Cohen brothers movie so I cannot compare, but I recommend this book. I think it is one that could interest a wide variety of readers.
