Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages!
Sporting the size of a traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on.
Using Bluetooth technology, the wireless Wii Remote sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remotes can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun!
In addition to its pointing and motion-sensing abilities, the Wii Remote also includes a speaker, rumble feature and expansion port for additional input devices, such as the Nunchuk.

When I received my refurbished Wiimote, it had a big crack in the sensor at the top of it (the part that points at the screen). I should have returned it then but don't know much about electronics and figured that Overstock wouldn't have shipped it to me if the crack were at all likely to affect the Wiimote's performance. The Wiimote worked for a few months and then stopped working, by which time I was of course past the return window.
It's a good deal, but inspect your Wiimote carefully and send it back right away if you see absolutely anything wrong with it.

Getting the remotes for the Nintendo Wii can be almost as expensive as the system itself, including the Nunchuks, rechargeable batteries, etc.
Hence, I tried my best to save money every chance I could when buying the different accessories for the system. I looked everywhere online and in stores, and the refurbished remote controllers here were the best deal online. I saved 25 percent off the normal price when no where else seemed to have them on sale, and they work perfectly.
The package comes with 2 AA batteries with a good life, though I chose to order the rechargeables because with how much I'm playing, the batteries still die eventually. For batteries, I was able to save money by going with Nimh rechargeables instead of the rechargeables specifically designed for the controller. All you really need is rechargeable batteries, and I got enough for all 4 controllers plus a charger for $30, whereas each rechargeable set designed for the Wii controller costs $25 + shipping, meaning it would have been over $100.
The refurbished controllers work great, and now my system is well-equipped!
