In a series of rousing song and dance routines, choreographer/director Kenny Ortega chronicles the newsies' struggle with publishing mogul Joseph Pulitzer, their battering at the hands of strikebreakers, and their eventual triumph over the powerful newspaper establishment.

Favorite Musical Ever?
I'm a big fan of musicals, and a big fan of disney, so this movie for me is just great. It's very well done and entertaining, and follows events that actually happened during the New York Newsy Strike. It's a great story and features some soon-to-be big names.

Great musical!
Some friends recommended this movie to me, and I'm so glad I bought it! It's a fun musical about the newspaper business featuring a young Christian Bale and even some other familiar faces, including Bill Pullman and Robert Duvall. It's a clean, good-hearted movie that's fun for everyone to watch. You won't be disappointed.

If you like musicals this is near as good as it gets. Plus the star cast... GOtta get it.

Newsies DVD
Newsies is a great family DVD. My five and four year olds love it. We have watched Newsies at least 20 times since receiving it a couple of weeks ago. Great musical with interesting historical conent! I will use this in my classroom when I am teaching social studies! I love overstock.com! They are the most reasonably priced website I have found. They ship fast, their customer service department is great to work with, and they follow through! Thanks for everything. Blueyesmiles
