Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger stars as Lucy Hill, a high-powered executive in love with her upscale Miami lifestyle. Seeking to snag a big promotion, Lucy agrees to move to a remote Minnesota town to oversee the restructuring of a blue-collar manufacturing plant. After enduring icy roads, freezing weather and a chilly reception from the locals, she soon warms up to the small town and its people - especially the town's handsome union representative (Harry Connick, Jr.). What begins as a job assignment becomes the best thing ever to happen to her, in this heartwarming comedy that proves that the warmest people are often in the coldest places.

Cute, some funny scenes, good acting and totally predictable
This movie is a great romantic comedy. If you are alone, and want a good movie to watch for the night, this is it! There are points in the movie that made me want to jump right in. They had me giggling and squealing. There is true chemistry in this film. It is a great couple or individual movie. Just a ball of fun!
This movie was cute and funny and I appreciated the accuracy of what it is like to move to the middle of nowhere. Some movies go over the top on that but this film did it well. Having moved from a city to the middle of nowhere I could totally relate to the main character in this film trying to figure out the strange new culture she had moved into. While there certainly weren't any Harry Conick Jrs where I moved there certainly was snow, cows on the road, real fireplaces and people who dressed and spoke very differently than I did. Like I said cute movie and worth watching.
This is a thoughtful, funny and lighthearted comedy. The acting is above par, although probably not academy worthy. Dialogue is catchy and colloquial, however sometimes ridiculously corny. Makes fun of small town life, without too much shameless mockery. A cute love story is woven through the plot and makes a nice addition, but is not the main plot point. Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. make the romance and drama very believable. This is an excellent feel-good flick great for a laugh or a cold night in. Don't expect it too make any critic's choice award's or wow you with subtlety or surprises though. It is what it is - predictable and cute.
