This is the second volume of the Thieme Atlas of Anatomy series, which seeks to provide, according to editors Schuenke (U. of Kiel Medical School, Germany), Schulte (U. of Mainz Medical School, Germany), and Schumacher (Hamburg U. Medical Center, Germany), a comprehensive yet accessible introduction to the initial study of anatomy. The atlas combines illustrations with explanatory text and summarizing tables, including clinical applications. Anatomical concepts are presented in a step-by- step sequence intended to allow for the integration of system-by-system and topographical views. The full color illustrations, all of which were created new for this work, were produced with the stated goal of clearly demonstrating anatomical relations and concepts without sacrificing detail or aesthetics. This volume covers the neck (overview and muscles, arteries, cervical viscera, and topographical anatomy), the thorax (spaces, organs, blood vessels, lymphatic system, and nervous system), the abdomen and pelvis (spaces, organs, blood vessels, lymphatic system, and autonomic nervous system), and neurovascular supply to the organs.
