    The dust jacket comments on this novel were obviously written under the influence of one or more hallucinatory substances -- for example "Death in Breslau is a stylish, intelligent, and original addition to the canon". I typically read twenty or more books a month and have done for years. This unfortunate effort has to be the absolute worst of the hundreds, maybe thousands, I've read. I finished it only because I finish books I begin, but fortunately until "Death in Breslau" (and environs) none has been as painful to complete. Every character in in the book was detestable, weird, contemptible, perverted, or various combinations of all four, and about whom it was impossible to care what happened to any of them no matter how painfully they may have suffered or died. They were all such miserable examples of humanity it wouldn't have mattered the tiniest whit to me if they had all been eviscerated and their fresh bodily openings stuffed with berserk scorpions.     I enjoyed the story so much it was so hard to stop reading it. I like stories that their pets help solve crimes.

    The storiers themselves was very good and funny as always but the printing was not that good some pages were so light is hard to read them and oithers were dark like they should be .so was disappointed in the quality of the printing of the books.
