Description:

Though she distinguished herself as one of the more versatile and compelling R&B singers of the early `00s, Mya`s presence on R&B radio diminished sharply in the latter half of the decade. After the relative commercial disappointment of 2007`s LIBERATION (which didn`t even see an American release), Mya left Universal Motown for Manhattan Records and recorded the uncharacteristically low-key SUGAR & SPICE in 2008. Though 2009`s BEST OF BOTH WORLDS is far more of a mixtape than a Mya album, it at least finds the singer sounding more comfortable than she has in years, particularly on the gently propulsive "Like Me." Though Mya`s contributions here are the most notable, the remainder of THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS features compelling tracks from Bone Thugs `N Harmony, Mobb Deep, Ginuwine, and Gucci Mane.
