A must-have movie
from Portland, Oregon,  Apr 7, 2012

If you have children, this is a MUST-HAVE movie experience for them (and for you). Miyazaki's world is beautiful, whimsical and magical, a place where nature and humans can connect in harmony. I can't imagine a better experience for children (and we old folks can use a little magic from time to time as well).

Must Own!
from Lafayette, IN,  May 12, 2011

We rented this movie from Netflix and watch it everyday for 2 weeks and realized I needed to own our own copy of this movie. Our two year old loves this movie and I enjoy watching the movie, too. I've recommended the movie to both adults with no children and families. We also purchased Ponyo and I would recommend it for kids, too.

Lovely story and beautifully executed
from madison, wi,  Apr 19, 2010

Two little girls are forced to move when their mother falls ill. They make friends with Totoro an other-worldly character with a cat bus! Wonderful for children, interesting for adults. There is warmth and humor in the writing that will keep you grinning throughout. The art is fantastic - a total visual feast Nothing really scary in the movie, but the theme of adaptation and the fact that beautiful things can come even through adversity if you are open to it is more appropriate for ages 5+.
