This is among my favorite older movies. I first saw it when I was 11 years old, and I am still just as entertained by it 20-something years later. Doris Day is just adorable, and Rock Hudson is at his most charming here. I've seen some of the other films they made together, but to me this is by far the best picture they ever made together. They just had so much chemistry together it was great to watch. The supporting cast of this film is also excellent, especially Thelma Ritter as Doris' maid and Tony Randall as Rock's best friend. Overall, a film that I will enjoy for a long time to come.

Luc Beson(he directed one of my fav movies,:Fifth Element", who was /is married to the model Milla Jovovich , now divorced...but I NORMALLY this kind of movie is not my genre but Jason Statham, MAKES all the movies he does...he does almost ALL of his STUNTS!..but anything with him it, I watch now and IF it gets too bloody, I fast forward but rare..good stories and this Transporter, has had a couple other movies after it...this is where the Chinese girl gets kidnapped and all Jason is "A TRANSPORTER' from point A to POINT B and he gets paid half at the beginning and total on delivery. He never asks what he's delivering, just delivers it...but this one turns awry cause the package is HUMAN and alive..I just love this guy...and Luc is involved as a producer still..it's a sensibility not seen in USA movies! If you are into movies like this...rent or buy it...renting for me now is pretty stupid once I've seen the movie PLUS know I will re watch the movie more than 5 times..already saw this movie twice but not in Bluray!..so I ordered it on Overstock.com Cheers.. This is one of the best movies i have seen in my entire life. It has action from start to end, and the plot is quite compelling. The photography and stunts are top notch, and it has some of the best fighting sequences I have ever seen. The one scene on the stairs at the mall is pure cinema genius. One constant scene from bottom to top with NON-STOP action. GENIUS! Tony Jaa should be a household name in this country because of this movie. And although I liked Ong-Bak also, The Protector is much better.

One of the classic 1960 era comedies with two of Hollywoods great male actors. Cary Grant is terrific as the straight man to Tny Curtis's con-guy approach. Story starts out as a recollection of the history of a WW II submarine that is about to be decommisioned. Curtis is the current captain responsible for taking the sub to disposal. He opens the ship's log and begins reviewing the entries Grant made during the war. As the recollection goes back, Curtis is introduced as a new arriving junior officer assigned to the sub as a result of a strange set of circumstances. During his assignment he goes about his duties more like it's a regular day-to-day job where he's trying to not only milk it for everything he can, but doing such without actually working or being responsible for anything. As a die-in-the-wool con artist, he goes from one scam to another, creating laughs along the way. All the while Grant as his sub commander is looking forward to the day he can unload Curtis from his command. By the end all the movie Curtis's well laid-out plans for a life free of responsibility go south, as he ends up becoming a fine naval officer befitting of a ship command of his own. Look for a good number of future character actors who were more or less unknown then but later went on to series of their own (Gavin from the love boat, etc.). If you enjoy the humor of Curtis you'll love this one as he's at his best as the lovable character who warms your heart and makes you smile.

The 80's horror slasher movies are the best!! this is just one of the many that are out there. No person can call themselves true horror fans without this movie with Jamie Lee Curtis.

If you enjoy Peter Ustinov and Helen Hayes, then consider this eight movie set. Three of the movies star Ustinov as Hercule Poirot. "Dead Man's Folly" (co-starring Jean Stapleton) is about a pretend murder game that becomes all too real. "Murder in Three Acts" (w/ Tony Curtis) involves multiple poisonings in Acapulco, and "Thirteen at Dinner" (w/ Faye Dunaway) deals with murder among the nobility and the entertainment industry. David Suchet, who portrayed Poirot in the A&E series, is great as Inspector Japp in this one. Helen Hayes stars as Miss Marple in two movies. "A Caribbean Mystery" (w/ Barnard Hughes) finds her on holiday, surrounded by a hotel full of murder suspects. In "Murder with Mirrors", she visits an old friend (Bette Davis) who might be a potential murder victim. In "Murder is Easy" (w/ Bill Bixby), Helen Hayes has a small but pivotal role (but not as Miss Marple) about a series of murders in a small English village. The seventh movie is "Sparkling Cyanide" (w/ Anthony Andrews) in which a husband and wife are killed with poisoned champagne. The final movie is "The Man in the Brown Suit" which features Stephanie Zimbalist as a tourist in Cairo who seeks adventure and finds more than she ever expected. My only complaint about this collection is that there is no bonus material (actor interviews, behind the scenes info, etc) with any of these movies. One of my movies also had a glitch - about 10 seconds of closed captioning appears on the screen and I can't make it go away. However, this is not enough to make me want to return it. I can't say that these are of the same quality as the wonderful "Death on the Nile" or "Evil Under the Sun", but if you love Ustinov and Hayes, this is a good buy.
