I love director Guillermo Del Toro's movies, and he hasn't missed yet. Having said that, this movie is as close to a "miss" as he has done. This doesn't mean it isn't a good movie, because it is. It's just that compared to Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone, Cronos, Blade II, and Hellboy, it doesn't quite match up to those lofty heights. If you haven't experienced Del Toro's movies yet, well get busy and Mimic isn't a bad place to start.
