My first jazz album based on a recommendation from a friend. Addictive.
"Kind of Blue" was the first Miles album I bought. I listened it to death, playing along with the tasty licks as best I could. Now it's available on CD to replace my old vinyl copy. It just so happens that this particular album can be thought of as "Miles Davis for the masses". It can be used as background music at a party just as well as listened to seriously and studied. Some of Davis' albums are mainly enjoyed by fans - but this one can truly be enjoyed by any jazz fan. Original vinyl in mint condition would likely cost $50 or more - but I would pay it were it not for this reissue. Also try "Birth of The Cool" with the great Gerry Mulligan and "Sketches of Spain".
I own this CD. This was my first purchase of Miles Davis' music. I do own some T Monk and definitely COLTRANE. This CD is AWESOME.. If you are just getting into Jazz, try this one. Miles and John play so seamlessly together, you can not tell where one ends and the other begins, TRY IT!!!
