The one tip that down pillows could be washed and put in the dryer has saved me more on dry cleaning than the book cost. Plus I like the way the pillows smell out of the dryer, rather than when back from the drycleaners. I'm 74, so I've picked up a lot on my own over the years, but if I have a question about anything to do with the house, it's my go-to book.

We use this every month. Usually books will sit on the shelf and look pretty, but this is always out on the table and getting used all year round.

This book may not be full of pretty, colorful pictures like some housekeeping books are, but I'm so glad it isn't. It's chocked full of helpful, easy to read information that covers everything from room organization and cleaning to moving. Some of the info is common sense, some I've heard before, but overall, it's just a great book to go to for answers to everyday cleaning and housekeeping. Great book and I highly recommend it.

I'm not a die hard Martha fan, I didn't get this book because her name was on it, I got this book as a reference. The information in this book is well organized (of course, it's Martha!) and presented in an easy to read format. This book covers everything that a newbie would need to know, and a seasoned pro would like to check up on or verify. This would be an excellent book for a house warming gift.

I'm in college and bought this book because a friend had it- i LOOOOVE it. It has everything you could ever need to know.

This is a pretty good book for people like me (note subject title). Nice for a newly wed who needs helpful suggestions on how to set up the first house and keep it in good order.

Martha Stewart"s "HomeKeeping Handbook" is more than just a reference book for homemakers. It is the bible to homekeeping. Inside the covers of this book there are list to allow a person a way to see what is important to do daily, weekly, monthly, seasonably, etc. The book contains many valuable tips and information that goes beyond being just helpful. I recommend it as a selfhelp guide for those just starting out on their own or those who have been struggling for years to maintain home and work. The overstock. com price was reasonable in comparison to the bookstore price and much better than committing to other purchases by obtaining it through a book club. I was so thankful for it. I have been ill for several years. During the illness, my husband has been straddled with the homework. Needless to say, my husband will never win a trophy for acomplishment in housekeeping...I would say he would get an award for trying though. Until I was introduced to the Martha Stewart "homekeeping Handbook," I felt so overwhelmed and hopeless I wanted to give up. I now know that there is hope and once I get the strength I know that this book will allow me to get things organized better than they ever have been. It is my right hand in homekeeping.

This is really a great reference and reminder book. It shows you how to take care of everything in your house...and it will remind you of areas of your house that have long been neglected (ie, utility room). I love it and I purchase this book for every new homeowner as a housewarming gift.

This was a gift for a wedding shower. It was so comprehensive in detailing every topic one might need to know about in caring for and keeping house that I'm getting one for myself.

This book has alot more information than even I was expecting and will be a great reference book for years to come
