    • Great Book for New Runners

When I decided I wanted to complete a half-marathon this year I was at a loss as to how to train for it. During my search I found Marathoning for Mortals. It was a great deal as it provided 8 different programs (walk, walk/run, run/walk, and run) for completing a half-marathon or a whole marathon. All of the programs are well laid out and, as the title suggests, are not overwhelming in the slightest. There is also a plethra of information and suggestions about diet to proper attire to attitude from two veteran coaches and runner to go along with the training programs. This is the book for anyone contemplating whether or not they are capable of running a long distance race.
