I really enjoyed the books and this set was my Mother's Day gift from my daughter, I enjoy them after a busy day they are relaxing. Mind you the guys in my life probably won't watch them but I have plenty of adopted daughters who will.

I have already recommended this entire series to others, family and friends. I love Westerns, and this is indeed a Western setting, but without the violence, the shooting and killing, that make up many in that genre. Instead, Christian values are strongly taught, such as prayer, concern and care for others, sacrifice, and love, especially family love and the strength of the family unit. Director Mike Landon Jr. is indeed on a roll here!

This movie is appropriate for a person of any age. It's too bad there aren't more movies like this made today. Also, the message is wonderful -that God is with us no matter what we go through.

Love Comes Softly should really be called "Little House Plain And Tall", as it's a combination of "Little House On The Prairie" and "Sarah Plain And Tall". The stories are very similar. ( It's even directed by Michael Landon, Jr, and the barn looked remarkably like the Ingalls' cabin.) A frontier widower and his daughter live in a cabin out on the prairie. He marries a total stranger and they live happily ever after. It's poignant. It's wholesome. It's good clean family entertainment. The little girl who plays Missy does a great job. The parents' parts could have been cast better. If you like Little House and you like Sarah, this is the movie for you. There are sequels too.

This story is so beautiful, touching and real. It takes you back into times that were more simple than today and people then worked so hard and suffered such hardships that you just can't imagine how they could be happy. But they were and they truly loved each other.

I purchased this movie and the folling movies in the series and enjoyed them so much I odered a set for my mothe-in-law for Mother's Day. She really enjoyed the movies as well. They are suitable for all ages and the story-line and secenery in the movies are just great. You cannot wait to see what happens to Misey in the next movie, like reading a great book that you cannot put down. I recommend the to anyone and my husband really enjoyed them as we.. The movies were shipped quickly and like all my oders with Overstock great value.

This movie, along with the others based upon novels by Janette Oak, are wonderful. I can finally sit down with my children and watch a movie that we all enjoy and one that is based upon Christian morals. My sons ages 13, 12,8, and 5 will watch this movie over and over thousands of times and never tire of it. I highly reccomend this movie to anyone who enjoys watching a good Christian family movie. Also watch Love's Enduring Promise. Both are terrific movies.
