layla from Michigan, Rating:5.0Anne Tyler at her best. Too bad it wasn't longer. She is America's best modern writer and I hope she is already started on her next novel. I suggest that everyone read all her books.

sofiagina from Oklahoma, Rating:5.0I have had a copy of this book for many years. I read it at least once per year, and learn something new each time. When my life turns "grey", I pull out this book and read it. It immediately helps turn things around. The stories are "medicine for the soul"....Pinkola Estes writes poetically and speaks to the inner soul. If you are a deep thinker and have read anything by Carl Jung you will appreciate this book. The unconscious understands the stories even if the conscious mind does not immediately grasp their meanings....over time the conscious mind will "catch up". This is a really wonderful, healing book.

va67ey from Sacramento, CA, Rating:5.0I had previously owned this book, but had to get rid of the copy I had. This is a wonderful book for bed time stories for older children. Mythology has a lot of action, adventure, and a bit of gore. It has the most popular myths (such as mankind's beginning) in Norse, Roman, and Greek mythology.
