i got the book and read it and started cookin its got stains and fingerprints all over it now which is how you tell whether a cookbook is any good or not. lidias a wonderful teacher and her recipes are not scary to do at all. so i recommend to anyone thats interested in good cookin for family
Great book. I was a little disappointed at first because I'm used to lots more pictures in my cookbooks but. She made up for it in detail and technique. I have watched her on KQED channel 9 for some time and always wanted to make her home style meals. Now I can. She has a way of explaining things (even in text) that you can understand, even if you never made pasta before or complex sauses. I read about 2 recipies per day and have not made anything yet. I always do this with a new cookbook. It helps me to understand the Chef. I can't wait to get started.
