If you are ready to get more advanced in your walking workout then this is for you. Leslie uses interval training which is to go from quick walking into a jog for two minutes and then back down to quick walking for three minutes. She does this five times over the course of 30 minutes during the middle of the workout. This video has really helped me to gain more endurance and be able to jog for longer periods of time without becoming winded. It is an advanced workout so if you are new to working out it might not be for you. She does, as usual, have two people in the group who do not jog they merely mimic the same movements while walking at the speedier pace. She is in a new studio for this one, which looks like a stage and has nothing to distract you from your workout. The best thing is that if you are not a fan of her lively chatter you can use the music only option which plays the music louder and edits out her speaking, but because she is still talking you can watch her lip movememts for your cues as to what to do. They also used a new cast which I like. It gets boring looking at the same poeple all the time. The bonus Jogging DVD is also great. She warms you up then has you jog for about 10 minutes. The down side is she does not cool you down very well so you have to do it yourself. That DVD also contains a leg workout for those people who have her stretchie band. The main 4 mile workout does not use weights or any other items so you just pop it in and do your thing. It is a really good workout and I would recommend it.
This workout is as great as the rest of the workouts by Leslie Sansone! I've tried the advanced 4-mile walk, although this DVD has a beginner level as well. I love to move, and Leslie keeps it brisk along with 90-second "walking boosts" to speed up the metabolism even more. I'm a Weight Watchers leader and highly recommend this to help lose weight and keep it off. If you love to move, keep motivated, and lose weight, this is a great DVD.
I was very pleased with overstock's shipping and service with this order; however, this product was not up to the level that I need when working out. I am a beginner and out of shape but this is too easy and does not inspire me to want to use it again.
I was recovering from a knee injury and had limited range of motion once I was able to walk again. I tried Leslie Sansone's walking DVD's and it was very helpful in my recovery. I wouldn't say these are true walking video's. They are more like marching with a variety of upper body and lower body excercises which add variety to the routine. You will definately get a good 1 hour cardio workout and burn a sufficient number of calories if weight loss is the goal. I personally walk with 3 pound dumbells which adds to the caloric burn and muscle gain. I also do some sit-ups and squats in addition to the DVD to tone specific areas. The people in the DVD's don't have the ripped bodies you might see in a Taebo video, but they do have good conversation and smiles. I am personally inspired and motivated by watching exercise videos that showcase hard-bodied physiques but to each is own.
I have always loved exercising with Leslie, she is one of my favorites, when I am finished with this exercise, I am fully drenched... The only thing I didn't like is when she was explaining how to do something with the lower part of her body, like a certain move with feet, they didn't show it, so you only see her upper body and not the lower part whereas she's trying to explain how to do a step and they actually did that a few times. Other than that I would always recommend her videos to everyone.
Great cardio and low impact workout. Leslie is very entertaining and motivational. If you don't enjoy the constant talking, you can have the music only as an option. She starts with a warm up and finishes with a cool down and quick stretch. This workout will make you sweat, and if you only have time for one or two miles you can do that too. Gives you a good fat burning workout, one of my personal favorites and I am glad I bought it.
Very energetic video! Definately not for beginner walkers. Challanging!
I was looking for a faster workout by Leslie and this was it. The intervals of "boosted walking" or jogging are great. She has you do bouncing knee lifts, kicks, and leg swings. I find them difficult, but worth the extra effort.
I sent this DVD as a gift. The only problem is that the voice and action on the DVD did not match.
This video includes "boosted walking" which is like jogging. It also has intervals which are a great way to burn calories. The second DVD is great too because it's just a mile of jogging if you need a shorter workout than the full 4 miles, Leslie Sansone is great -very bubbly and talks a lot. If you don't care for that, you can choose to do the workout with just music. Highly recommend this to someone who is at the intermediate stages of working out.
I haven't exercised in a while and I was able to jump right in. Very easy foot work. Leslie is nice and I don't find her chatter annoying at all. I don't think that I hit the highest aerobic level (I was no where near as sweaty as the people on the DVD). I like the fact that it is pure aerobics, which is what I was looking for. No section devoted specifically to toning. Not sure if it is equivalent to 4-miles worth of walking which is why I gave the DVD 4 stars. All-in-all, it was a good buy and cheaper than purchasing it from collage videos, my usually exercise video supplier.
I like it! Gets your heart rate up but you can choose the intensity. If you're an early morning person you can handle this workout before work and be energized throughout the day or you can do it after a days work and not feel as though you're torturing yourself. The music may not appeal to everyone but I'm not trying to learn to dance, I'm trying to become more fit. When I turn on the program I see everyday people from all walks of life not picture perfect bodies.If you're looking for a place to start this is what you want.
Although there seems to be a lack of a professional 'finish' to this DVD, the workout itself is one of the best I've had from Leslie. The bonus jogging DVD is also a good, albeit short, workout. I would highly recommend.
This is my first Leislie video and I like it . It gives me a workout and I don't mind hearing her talk alot. I just would like better music. Overall I would buy more of her videos.
I really enjoy this exercise video. I admit I am usually a runner (pregnant right now) but this has help me to feel strong and like I am still working out - Highly recommend it - (check with your doctor first if you are pregnant!!!)
