In 2001, Jesus brings back one of his boyhood friends--Levi, known fondly as Biff--from the dead and sets him up in a St. Louis hotel room to crank out a new gospel, watched over by a TV-addicted angel. Biff`s version of the Jesus story emphasizes Jesus`s goodness and innocence in a dog-eat-dog childhood world where Biff`s role is to help his friend on the road to Messiah-hood.

This book was so easy to read! What a great story. I love Christopher Moore's sense of humor and ability to make me laugh as I read. I couldn't put this book down. I had to read and finish it to matter what.

Christopher Moore weaves an awesome tale that fills in a Biblical gap--the years of Christ's life before his public ministry began--as told by his childhood friend and sidekick Biff. I laughed till I cried, then was moved to tears by the end of the book. Don't buy just one copy--you'll want one to keep and one to share!

This hilarious book is a fictional account of Jesus as a young adult, as told by his best friend, Biff. I found the book laugh-out-loud funny, but it will not appeal to everyone.

One of my sisters got to the end of the first page of LAMB and put it down to order a copy for me; she knew I would love it. And, thus, I was introduced to the wacky mind of Christopher Moore. Only he would dare write a story from the point of view of Biff, Jesus's childhood pal. Only slightly sacrilegious, offering unique points of view, and side-clutchingly funny. My restraint was stronger than Sonya's; I finished it before I ordered three copies as gifts. I often buy used books. LAMB, purchased used, with shipping, is no cheaper than purchasing it new from Overstock with its discount shipping. This fourth copy was purchased for the mail carrier who saved me a seat at the Neil Gaiman book signing; he's a Catholic school survivor, and I had a feeling that Notre Dame didn't cover what Mr. Moore did. (Incidentally, he's blogged how much he loved it.)

Irreverent look at Jesus Christ's boyhood from the point of view of his best friend Biff. Very, very funny.
