Lace Knitting (Hardcover)

For any knitter who likes to do their own thing, this is a great resource. It is part of a series from a great company that show in charted and written form the great variety of stitches and color combinations you can use to make up your own patterns or change a plain, boring sweater, scarf or afghan into a sampler of your own creation. The pictures of the patterns are large enough to show good definition and most are well done. My only complaint is that quite a few were knitted in dark yarn and the pictures do not show the pattern well. The pattern just fades into the dark color, even on a white background. I also wish they had the patterns for the lace thigh high stockings and the great shawl with large petal motif that they show in the book. The patterns are there but the combined pattern is not. All in all this is a great addition to any knitter's library whether new or experienced. I am so glad I have the whole series now as I use them constantly.
