  • Kung Fu TV series

One of the greatest TV shows of all time. Ground-breaking in it's dealings, similar to the way the original Star Trek made insights on the social conditions of the time, but in this case, using the "wild west" U.S. history rather than future context. Caine (like Spock) is mixed-race, but proves to be a model person that all can look up to. It's good for kids to see via the flashback sequences to his youth in the Chinese monastery training that to become this disciplined is a life-long process, not just a few karate lessons down at the local dojo. But it pays off in the end as the "bad guy" doesn't win, but neither does Caine as he must continue on, pursued as a "wanted man". I'm not a fan of the two-sided DVD's since they tend to get damaged more easily, but other than this, the packaging is good and it makes for many hours of enjoyable viewing and life "lessons" to ponder. A fine addition to my other series collections of MacGyver and Northern Exposure.
