Each project--from vests, coats, lightweight shells, and short-sleeve tops to a wide assortment of kimono jackets featuring various weights of yarn--is shown off in clear photography and step-by-step instructions. On the included instructional DVD, Vicki also demonstrates the special techniques and stitches that make these garments so elegantly wearable, including two-color slip stitch, surface embroidery, two-hand stranded colorwork, garter-stitch shortrows, attaching knitted cord, making origami folds, double knitting, and more.

  • Excellent knitting book.

Vickie Square is an expert designer and knitter. This book is the second in her series of kimono knitwear; hope she will write more books on this subject. The history of kimono and its appication to knitwear is a fascinating read. I will make several of the kimono in the book as time allows.

My only complaint is that it seemed to take a longer than usual time to arrive.

  • second book on kimono

Until I actually knit from this one I'll reserve the excellent rating. The choice of projects is VERY intriguing. Less complicated, it appears, than the first book. Wonderful pictures of garments. I look forward to knitting many of these projects. I would recommend it to those looking for additions to their wardrobe, for those with stash in small amounts and some superlative gift works. So much knitting, so little time!
