Big surprise for me
Never was a John Mayer fan, but I saw him on a recent Austin City Limits doing his more recent material, couldn't find that disc but rented this one instead. This has to be the concert performance of his career, and filmed (like The Last Waltz), not taped. Audio and video is outstanding, the crowd noise is muted enough to not interfere with the performance, and the material is simply great. Had to buy this disc after watching the rented one, it's a keeper, and have watched it numerous times since and bought the cd of it. Looked into all his studio cds and really don't care for any of them -- this guy should stick with live performance cds and dvds, the studio doesn't do him justice. This is a great concert whether you're a fan or not, it's just a great performance from him and two different bands.

John Mayer Does it Again
I'm a big John Mayer fan, so I'm obviously biased; but this is a great concert, with three distinct segments. Not all musicians are great live, they sound much better in the studio where the music can be electronically enhanced. John Mayer doesn't need a studio, he ROCKS live and is very entertaining and engages the audience between songs. This is an awesome DVD and I like the music so much I bought the CD for my car and iPod. If you like really great blues guitar, you'll LOVE this and his voice aint bad, either!!!! His music has definitely matured over the last few years, becoming less "pop"and more rock/blues with serious guitar presence and great lyrics. I highly recommend it!
