You could tell Joe was in a darker place in his life when these recordings were made. he states in the Linear notes that the first tracks of the album he was in the happiest place in his life and the last tracks in the saddest. It's a really good album, and there are a couple of really cool cuts and some blistering guitar work as you would expect. I just didn't feel as moved by it as a whole, as I have in some of his earlier works, It's almost like the passion on some of the cuts just wasn't there, maybe those were the more sad days than happy ones here.

Bought this CD for my hubby for his birthday and he LOVES it. He is a huge blues fan and I was worried that this might not be "bluesy" enough for him but it definitely hits the spot between a soulfull rock and new age blues and he really loves it! I can say that Joe Bonamassa has a awesome voice!
