The tight interplay of McCartney`s ensemble puts some serious muscle behind his tween-friendly pop tunes, allowing the Broadway-trained performer to belt out his hits with unrestrained energy. As this disc`s title implies, McCartney runs through most of the songs on his successful BEAUTIFUL SOUL album, including a funky, guitar-heavy take on "Without U" and a Maroon 5-like, R&B-tinged rendition of "Because You Live." Although the screams of giddy teenage girls sometimes threaten to eclipse the music, LIVE serves as a nice showcase for McCartney`s strong vocals and charming on-stage presence, making this the rare concert recording that rivals its studio counterpart.
