more than an atlas, includes area & city maps, sightseeing, transportation and thematic maps [volcanos, national parks, historic & scenic locations] as well as embassy and consolate information, transportation maps in particular were critical to me, they include train, ferry and expressway routes, mileage info as well, the bilingual aspect of this text make it doubly convenient during in-country travel, printing [inks and binding] is visually beautiful, in total a good example of Japanese attention to detail and exactitude
