Got this for my daughter's AP class. Overstock sent this product out promptly and for a great price. Just know that if this item goes through the Allentown post office, it will take a while to arrive. Of course, this was not Overstock's fault.

The author wrote more about himself than he did Chris/Alex. He used Alex tragedy to write about himself. When I finished the book I felt this is it? What he wrote about Alex probably could have been written in 60 pages, the book is 200. It's sad how Jon covered this story and the extremely poor job he did in getting the reader to know who Chris/Alex was and why he did what he did.

the book was a HS summer reading assignment for AP English. My son is really enjoying the book. Im glad it has kept his attention cause its hard to get him to read a book all the way through. I will be reading it after him.

I had to read this book for a college lit class and it honestly changed my outlook on life so much. It really shows how you need to go out and live, really do what your heart tells you to do. The ideologies of Chris McCandless really touched my heart and I did cry as the book came to a close. As an environmental science major I might be alittle biased, but I really thought that this book showed one mans struggle to live with the wild and his attempts to overcome the society in which he lived. The movie is good, but the book is much better. You really get inside Chris's head.

Although no one knows for sure what happened to Chris McCandles, this book is a thorough account of what most likely did happen to him in Alaska. It is a great read, and an interesting look into the psyche of idealistic young men.

This book is based on a true story, which it must be to fit into the "nonfiction" genre. But it seems to start off rather slow...when I remind myself that this is based upon a young man's journey through life the story holds my attention better. The characters are interesting and add a nice flavor to the story. I would also recommend the DVD that goes along with this (although, it doesn't come out until March 4th!) Thanks!

This book was ordered as a birthday gift for my father. I placed the order on 1/18, 5 days before his birthday. And it arrived at his door 6 days AFTER his birthday. This had to be one of the longest delivery times - for just one book! The book was shipped 1/20 from Overstock. Then it was received at UPS in Carol Stream, IL and from there it went to Austin, TX via UPS. After that it went to Dallas where it was transferred from UPS to USPS on 1/25. And FINALLY it arrived at it's final destination in Houston on 1/29. In the past I'd ordered a large ottoman from Overstock that took less time to be delivered! Luckily Dad enjoyed the book once he got his hands on it.

it was hard to put this book down. Very easy to read and quite enjoyable. This guy's adventures were amazing.
