This dynamic duo never fails to entertain. First, there's the writing, which in and of itself would be enough. The plots are intelligent, complex and very satisfying. Second, there's the casting and acting. They are absolutely impeccable. Third, there are the setting and production values. The director spends time and money on establishing shots, transition scenes and backdrops that would never be found in an American TV series and not in most made for TV movies. And last but by no means least, there's the relationship between Morse and Lewis. Their differences in background, education, interests and social strata make this warm yet complex relationship a great source of fun. I don¿t generally buy DVDs but I had to have this entire series, all six sets.
