Very funny movie! I recommend this movie to anyone who likes period movies.

I read this play by Oscar Wilde in high school, and from what I can remember, this movie is true to the play. If you have read the play, you know that tends to be rather silly, but that's what makes it fun. And the movie is a great illustration of the play. Very entertaining! And the cast tops it off with great acting by Colin Firth, Rupert Everrett and Reese Witherspoon.

I was dissappointed somewhat in this movie. THe acting of Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon is only reedemable quality of this film. It is a bit silly, and I didn't care for the "dream scenes" in this film. Also didn't like the tattoo scene when they show the word Earnest on the lady's rear. This was certainly not what I expected for the rating. If you enjoy silly,flirtatious films this is for you. IF you prefer higher quality,less "trash"(like Pride and Prejudice by A&E or other works by A&E this is not for you. I plan on returning this movie to a place that gives small amounts for viewed movies. I'll never watch it again.

Oscar Wilde would enjoy watching Reese, Rupert and Colin and the other cast bringing his comedy to the 21st century viewers.
