Dating is such a fraught situation. After attending several Zen Buddhist meditation retreats over the past few years, I began to wonder if perhaps there was a spiritual path to dating. The author is a Buddhist, a Quaker, a therapist, and a raft of other good things which give her a cogent sense of spiritual balance. Without being pushy or preachy, she gently guides readers to articulate what inner qualities they seek in a partner, and pinpoints the pluses and minuses in searching for a spiritual counterpart. Well, this book has taught me there's more to life than cute, witty boys who make girls cry --just maybe there might be an alternative for someone like me, until now in love with heartbreak, hopelessly single, and married to my cat. Perhaps even that Desperately-Seeking-Soulmate centenarian would benefit from this book, which provides perspective on how to date mindfully and free yourself of all that past baggage and future worry.
