One of the best books I've ever read. Make sure to read the sequel "Catching Fire." Am anxiously awaiting the third book in the trilogy! Well worth at any price but enjoyed the value I got through Overstock.
In my opinion, this is the best new YA book of 2009. (And I read a ton of YA books.) It's fresh and suspenseful. The book synopsis does not do it justice. Even if you usually shy away from sci-fi, you will like this one. It has heart.
I have read this book as well as many of my friends from book club. We have all just loved it and raved about it to others. I am getting 2 for different family members who love to read. I can definitely see a movie in the making. Its almost as good as the "Twilight" series. There is violence in the book but would still feel it appropriate for young readers. There is some romance but it is kept to a minumum. There is some kissing. I can't wait for the sequel to come!
