I bought this book along with a massage table, massage oils, and a set of basalt stones for my fiance's birthday. Although I've received hot stone massages in the past, I've never given one. The book was a pretty good beginners book, but I would say that I would have appreciated more specific instructions on administering a hot stone massage rather than the supernatural "powers" of the "art" of massage. I wanted more text book-like prose.
