Description:
What if all the separate images we see virtually every moment of our waking lives were actually part of the same whole? What if every mind was connected and inseparable from every other mind? And what if the universe were a projection of our consciousness? Synchronicities and previously inexplicable phenomena would be easier to understand, the findings of quantum physicists and mystics would begin to merge, and the world would be a less forbidding and lonely place. Michael Talbot explores, and argues convincingly for, the idea that what we see in our limited three-dimensional view is actually a hologram created by frequencies emanating from higher dimensions. Talbot bases much of his thesis on David Bohm's life work in quantum physics, but draws also on the work of psychiatrist Stanislav Grof and neuroscientist Karl Pribram (who believes that the human brain is a hologram). This fascinating book bridges the worlds of science and metaphysics and offers plausible theories that may, in time, become accepted as fact.

I picked up this book because I am at a non-stop search for the universal truth. The title is what caught my eye. What if everything we know to exist is just a hologram that our mind projects and sees as the world. If you are open-minded, free thinking and just generally want something interesting to think about this is a good read. It's not always easy to follow, especially if you know nothing at all about topics like this, but you will understand what is written. It tries to explain why we have dreams, premonitions, etc with the holographic theory. If you are totally dedicated to religion you may think this book is explaining away God. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe strongly in God, but my beliefs are from proof such as this. Evidence based beliefs are the only way you can prove existence of a higher power and this is one book of many that tries to do that.
