This is just a CD version of the album. It is not remastered and sounds muffled compared to digitally mastered or remastered CDs.

  • One of the great bands of 1970s metal

This is the best version of a damn fine Scorpions album. It is something of a stopgap between the twin peaks of "In Trance" and "Taken by Force," but there are still a number of excellent tracks contained within. Perhaps it isn't an absolute classic like those other two albums. This review is for the original 1989 German issue of the album, perfectly mastered and with fully gorgeous sound quality. There is no need to buy any other edition.

  • Another masterpiece from Vitus

    Jan 10, 2012

humanmachinery  from South Lowell, MA, Rating:5.0

This is Scott "Wino" Weinrich's second album with Saint Vitus, and while it is a slight step down from "Born too Late," it is still better than the overwhelming majority of metal releases from 1988. Of all the classic 1980s doom bands, perhaps only the Melvins were more broadly influential, as Vitus influenced everyone from Soundgarden to Sleep. The bonehead simple riffing, shambling drum beats, and howling vocals evoked a gnawing existential void that might be obscured, but never extinguished. This is the last truly great album from the original run of Saint Vitus. It is essential.

    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. One of many great doom albums from Vitus.
